Cajun Blaze Cornbread Dressing

Cornbread Dressing

B.I. Moody
In loving memory of my Momma Te,
1926 – 2017

A favorite recipe on every Cajun holiday table. Probably the most looked forward to part of any holiday dinner, besides dessert, is the dressing and it’s not uncommon to have more than one kind. I personally love my grandmother’s cornbread dressing and can’t imagine a holiday without it. It’s moist, flavorful, and pairs well with any meat.

This recipe holds a special place in my heart, as my grandmother, Thelma “Momma Te” Moody, always made sure to have plenty Cornbread Dressing at every holiday meal, which was not a small feat.

Thelma and her husband, B.I. Moody III, have 9 children, 49 grandchildren, and 87 great-grandchildren. Needless to say, their hearts and kitchen were always full.

Meat and Vegetable Mixture

  • Brown meat in a large pot.
  • Add Cajun Blaze Seasoning, vegetable mixture, and 32-oz of chicken broth.
  • Cook down meat/vegetable mixture until vegetables are soft translucent. Take your time on this step to properly cook down and merge the flavors. Don't worry about the excess juice, as the cornbread will soak it up in the final step.

Final Steps

  • Mix the cornbread crumbs with meat/vegetable mixture.
