Want to know more about Burger Tyme History? Burger Tyme ™ is home of the original Cajun Blaze ™. This iconic restaurant was established in 1988 by Braxton Moody IV in Lafayette, Louisiana and went on to contribute one of the area’s favorite hamburgers of all time. Mr. Moody grew up in Crowley, Louisiana, graduated from the Bank Administration Institute’s School of Banking, National Commercial Lending School, graduated from USL (now ULL) with an accounting degree, and earned his CPA certificate. Mr. Moody went on to excel in many industries and serve his community as chairman of the board of Lafayette City Deanery Catholic Schools, co-chairman of the business phase of Saint Thomas More High School, board member of Saint Thomas More High School, Lafayette Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and Evangeline Area Boy Scouts, as well as, an active member of Lafayette’s Chamber of Commerce.
Braxton Moody IV has a passion for the restaurant industry and worked his way around the country in various fast-food and casual dining concepts. He originally created the delightful Cajun Blaze ™ Seasoning in his kitchen, while raising five children and deciding what to do with vacant real estate during one of Lafayette’s worst economic downturns (1980’s oil bust). Out of necessity, the legend was born. In addition to the famous Cajun Blaze ™ hamburger, Burger Tyme ™ went on to create many other crowd pleasers like the Cajun Crawfish Burger and Bon Temps Poulet ™ sandwich/salad.
Braxton retired the restaurant in 2000 to move on to other ventures and spend more time hunting and fishing with his three sons and two daughters. Through the years, many fans have requested the return of Burger Tyme ™ and have continued to keep the name alive through many stories and internet message boards. Until now, these famous recipes were not accessible to the public. However, now you can experience this culinary delight in the comfort of your home, just as it was originally created.
